Injectables

Linezolid injection is used to treat infections, including pneumonia, and infections of the skin. Linezolid is in a class of antibacterials called oxazolidinones. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.

Basiliximab (trade name Simulect) is a chimeric mouse-human monoclonal antibody to the chain (CD25) of the IL-2 receptor of T cells. It is used to prevent rejection in organ transplantation, especially in kidney transplants.

Glycopyrrolate injection is indicated for use as a preoperative antimuscarinic to reduce salivary, tracheobronchial, and pharyngeal secretions; to reduce the volume and free acidity of gastric secretions; and to block cardiac vagal inhibitory reflexes during induction of anesthesia and intubation.

Tinidazole is an antibiotic that fights bacteria in the body.

Ferric carboxymaltose injection is used to treat iron-deficiency anemia (a lower than normal number of red blood cells due to too little iron) in adults who cannot tolerate or who could not successfully be treated with iron supplements taken by mouth.

Cefepime injection is used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria including pneumonia, and skin, urinary tract, and kidney infections.

Arsenic trioxide is used to treat a type of leukemia (acute promyelocytic leukemia-APL).

Hydralazine injection is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). High blood pressure adds to the workload of the heart and arteries. If it continues for a long time, the heart and arteries may not function properly.

Dexamethasone injection is used to treat severe allergic reactions. It is used in the management of certain types of edema (fluid retention and swelling; excess fluid held in body tissues,) gastrointestinal disease, and certain types of arthritis.

Visudyne Injection is used to treat eye conditions such as wet form of macular degeneration.

This medication is used to treat a type of multiple sclerosis that occurs when symptoms appear in cycles of worsening and improvement

Imipenem and cilastatin injection is used to treat certain serious infections that are caused by bacteria, including endocarditis (infection of the heart lining and valves) and respiratory tract (including pneumonia), urinary tract, abdominal (stomach area), gynecological, blood, skin, bone, and joint infections.

Phenytoin injection is an anticonvulsant medication that is used to treat a prolonged seizure (status epilepticus). Phenytoin injection is also used to prevent seizures during a surgery. Phenytoin injection may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

CANAKINUMAB is used to treat certain types of arthritis in children. It is also used to treat rare periodic fever syndromes including cryopyrin-associated periodic syndromes (CAPS), tumor necrosis factor receptor associated periodic syndrome (TRAPS), hyperimmunoglobulin D syndrome (HIDS)/mevalonate kinase deficiency (MKD), and familial Mediterranean fever (FMF). This medicine is not a cure.

Carboprost is a form of prostaglandin (a hormone-like substance that occurs naturally in the body). Prostaglandins help to control functions in the body such as blood pressure and muscle contractions. Carboprost is used to treat severe bleeding after childbirth (postpartum).

Acetylcysteine Injection is an antidote for acetaminophen overdose indicated to prevent or lessen hepatic injury after ingestion of a potentially hepatotoxic quantity of acetaminophen.

Carfilzomib injection is used alone and in combination with dexamethasone, daratumumab and dexamethasone, or lenalidomide (Revlimid) and dexamethasone to treat people with multiple myeloma (a type of cancer of the bone marrow) who have already been treated with other medications.

Lignocaine Injection belongs to two groups of medicines known as local anaesthetics and anti-arrhythmic drugs. Local anaesthetics stop pain and feeling in the area around where it is injected, and anti-arrhythmic drugs work by restoring irregular and/or rapid heartbeats to normal.

Alprostadil belongs to a group of medicines called vasodilators. These drugs increase blood flow by expanding blood vessels.

This medication is used to treat conditions such as arthritis, blood disorders, severe allergic reactions, certain cancers, eye conditions, skin/kidney/intestinal/lung diseases, and immune system disorders.

Aciclovir Intravenous Infusion belongs to a group of medicines known as antivirals. It works by stopping the viruses multiplying in the body. Aciclovir Intravenous Infusion is used for the management of a number of different conditions caused by certain viruses.

This medication is used to treat a certain type of seizure in children (infantile spasms). This medication is also used to treat conditions such as multiple sclerosis, arthritis, lupus, eye conditions, skin/kidney/lung diseases, and immune system disorders.

Actilyse 50mg Injection is a medicine which dissolves the clots that have formed in blood vessels. It is used to treat stroke, heart attack, and pulmonary embolism (blood clots in the lungs). It is known as a thrombolytic or clot-busting medicine.

Remdesivir injection is used to treat coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19 infection) caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus in hospitalized adults and children 12 years of age and older who weigh at least 88 pounds (40 kg). Remdesivir is in a class of medications called antivirals.

This medication can rarely cause a tear in the stomach/intestines (gastrointestinal perforation). It may also increase the risk of serious (possibly fatal) bleeding, such as bleeding from the stomach/intestines or in the brain.

Amikacin Sulphate 500mg Injection is an antibiotic used to prevent or treat a wide variety of bacterial infections.

Aminocaproic Acid Injection is useful in enhancing hemostasis when fibrinolysis contributes to bleeding. In life-threatening situations, fresh whole blood transfusions, fibrinogen infusions, and other emergency measures may be required.

Aminophylline Injection is indicated for relief of bronchospasm associated with asthma and in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Atracurium Besilate Injection belongs to a group of medicines called muscle relaxants. It is used along with general anesthesia or sedatives to provide skeletal muscle relaxation during surgical procedures.

CABAZITAXEL is a chemotherapy drug. It is used to treat prostate cancer. It targets fast dividing cells, like cancer cells, and causes these cells to die.

Cefazolin is an antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. It may also be used before and during certain surgeries to help prevent infection.

N-Butyl Cyanoacrylate is used as a tissue adhesive for the closure of surgical wounds and promotes wound healing.

Injection is used in the treatment of blood cancer called acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). It is also used to treat patients with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). It may be used to treat other conditions, as determined by the doctor.

Flucloxacillin Sodium is used in the treatment of bacterial infections.

Penicillin G is used in the treatment of bacterial infections, syphilis and prevention of rheumatic fever.

Albumin is a naturally occurring transport protein found in the body. Albumin binds to many substances including bilirubin, fatty acids, hormones, enzymes, drugs, dyes, and trace elements. Albumin is responsible for 70% to 80% of the osmotic pressure of normal plasma, regulating the volume of circulating blood.

Isoflurane Usp Liquid For Inhalation is a general anesthetic. It is used in major surgical procedures. It allows the procedures to be carried out without pain and distress. This medicine is used in a hospital setting only.

Labetalol is used with or without other medications to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems.

Metoclopramide is used to prevent nausea and vomiting from surgery or chemotherapy. It is also used by people with diabetes who have slow emptying of their stomachs (gastroparesis).

Netilmicin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic used for a wide variety of serious bacterial infections, such as respiratory tract infections, skin infections, urinary tract infections, and infections of the blood, abdomen or bones.

Norepinephrine is similar to adrenaline. It is used to treat life-threatening low blood pressure (hypotension) that can occur with certain medical conditions or surgical procedures. Norepinephrine is often used during CPR (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation).

Pralidoxime reverses muscle weakness or paralysis caused by a poison or certain drug overdose. Pralidoxime is used as an antidote to treat poisoning by a chemical or pesticide (insect spray), or by a drug used to treat a muscle disorder.

Promethazine is used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting related to certain conditions (such as before/after surgery, motion sickness). It is also used with other medication to treat severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) and reactions to blood products.

Pasireotide is used to treat a certain condition (Cushings disease) when surgery has not been fully successful or cannot be used to correct the condition.

Pegvisomant is used to treat a certain condition called acromegaly. Acromegaly occurs when the body makes too much growth hormone and other natural substances such as insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I).

Ulinastatin is used in the treatment of severe sepsis and pancreatitis.

Panitumumab may cause skin reactions, including some that may be severe. Severe skin problems may develop serious infections, which may cause death. If you experience any of the following symptoms, call your doctor immediately: pimples; itching or redness of the skin, peeling, dry, or cracked skin; or redness or swelling around the fingernails or toenails.
